Andre Murrell
Arden Wojcik
Arden plays Andre Murrell, a young Christian intent on seeing a better life for his family. The following is Andre's story, written by Arden:
Andre Murrel was born on July 14, 1780 to Jerome and Genevieve Murrell. As a young boy, he watched and learned the trade his father was teaching his older brother, Francois. The family always struggled for food, and it was Andre’s job to get the food for the family. One day, he was walking to the marketplace when he happened upon a cross lying on the street. Recognizing the shape from the top of one of the tallest buildings, he went to the building after buying the food for the family. He found the priest and inquired as to what the cross was. The priest told him about the struggles of Christ and the many stories in the Bible. Andre memorized the stories diligently. Using his knowledge of the Book, he assessed the situation in France to be not only cruel, but going against the teachings of the Lord. At this time, Francois became caught up in the revolution, going on dangerous missions and causing both Andre and his family great worry. In response to a shipment of bread being stolen, Comte de Rousseau passed new taxes on food. Jerome sent Andre out to get food from Dallon, outside of the Comte’s lands. On the road back, he was attacked by highwaymen, who stole all he had.
